One Life To Live For Christ

Posted by Michael La Framboise on Sunday, August 25, 2013,
    “Two little lines I heard one day,
    Traveling along life’s busy way;
    Bringing conviction to my heart,
    And from my mind would not depart;
    Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
    Only what’s done for Christ will last.

    Only one life, yes only one,
    Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
    Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet,
    And stand before His Judgement seat;
    Only one life,’twill soon be past,
    Only what’s done for Christ will last.

    Only one life, ...

Alive From The Dead

Posted by Michael La Framboise on Sunday, August 25, 2013,
    In the Book of Romans the Apostle Paul presents a great treatise on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He explains our need for the gospel, and then exhorts believers to live by the gospel. Once we have put our faith in the Lord Jesus, we are called to bring glory to Him through our lives.     In 1 Peter 4, the Apostle admonishes those who put this world before the Kingdom of G...

    In his first letter to his dear son in the faith Timothy, the aged apostle Paul counseled the young pastor to warn his congregation of straying into a materialistic and worldly life. In a graphic statement he strongly asserted that a person who professes Christ but lives for pleasure is dead while they live! (5:6) Indeed, the Church is filled with people who are dead to Christ and alive to sin, though they are called to be dead to sin and alive to Christ. (Rom. 6:11) Thus, the living dead...

The Walking Dead

    The popular TV show “The Walking Dead” is about survivors of a zombie apocalypse. Their lives are ever in danger from monstrous cannibals, and lead character Rick Grimes does his best to keep his friends and family safe. In one episode, an older Christian man named Hershel begins to lose hope. Rick chides him for giving into fear, telling him strongly, “You're a man of God. Have some faith!”

    In 1838 missionary James Calvert set sail for Fiji, determined to share the gospel wit...
