“I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God” 1 Timothy 3:15
Is it not proper for God’s people to be in His House when the call to worship is sounded forth? Is it not a certain and most reasonable act of worship to simply come to church? To be there on-time and engaged in the service, is this not a fundamental and basic notion of Christian conduct?
During His life Jesus made it a priority to be in His Father’s House. We see Him active there as a Boy, and even more so as a Man. Jesus was so enthusiastic about it that concerning Him it is said, “Zeal for Your House has eaten me up!” Jesus is passionate about Church, and about the spiritual opportunities extended to God’s people who by faith may worship and praise the Lord, and to serve Him faithfully over a lifetime which is to be centered around the House of God.
The Christian’s life is to be one which grows out of his devotion to the Lord as developed in faithful and committed engagement in one’s church; for it is in God’s House that we will find His power and glory!
