If we were asked this moment if we were filled with the Holy Spirit, how many of us would dare say “Yes,” even though this is commanded in Ephesians 5:18?

Revival is when we can say “yes” at any moment of the day. Andrew Murray once wrote, “Just as water ever seeks and fills the lowest place, so the moment God finds you abased and empty, His glory and power flow in.” Jesus said, “And it shall be in you like a well of water springing up into everlasting life and flowing out...” And that’s why David could say, “My cup runneth over!”

What we need more than anything else is to be so intoxicated with the wine of the Spirit of God that we are taken over and controlled by the Holy Spirit. Just as so many in the world find their personalities and bodies under the influence of some intoxicating drink, Christian believers are called to drink of the water which Christ offers, that we might truly and wonderfully come under His sweet and powerful influence. And so the Apostle commands, “Don’t be drunk with the wine of the world, but be drunk of God.”

What is the cup of your life filled with? Is it contaminated with the sin of this world; or it running over with God’s Spirit, pouring forth His love, joy, and peace?
